Always a clear overview with BIM

BIM, the Building Information Model, is at the centre of our multidisciplinary design and implementation processes. BIM is much more than working out complex projects in 3D: it is a design tool, project coordination and data management all in one. When it comes to closely monitoring budget, time and quality, it’s an indispensable resource. Working in a BIM environment is part of our standard approach, and this has proven advantages both in small and large construction projects, such as the Amphia Hospital in Breda, Tergooi Medical Centre in Hilversum and the Amsterdam UMC Imaging Centre on the Vrije Universiteit campus.

Complete digital file

BIM enables ongoing coordination between the various design disciplines. It functions as a complete digital file: all parties involved have access to all the information present at any given time. During the entire process, from design to completion, BIM significantly reduces the chance of errors and misunderstandings. Moreover, a good BIM can later be invaluable when it comes to management and maintenance.

Transparent and real-time

In projects, we work with one integral BIM environment. It is accessible to everyone involved, whether they have a modeling role or not. We connect everyone so that project development is always transparent. This provides overview, trust and certainty—the basis of every successful project. Within BIM, we work with separate models for architecture, installations and structures, which are linked in real time. In this way, everyone has access to current information, while authorizations and responsibilities are properly secured.

With BIM, you always have insight into the exact state of affairs, for example, with virtual reality

Wiegerinck directs

Wiegerinck directs the BIM. We also maintain contact with the other consultants to avoid clashes. Solving complex puzzles is a continuous part of the design process. Problems, analyses and solutions are clearly documented so that we can always recall which decisions were made and when.

At every meeting

During meetings, we will always show you the exact state of affairs with BIM, in 3D video images or VR. This allows everyone to understand our designs and provide appropriate feedback. And of course, the digital platform is accessible 24/7. Clients can log in anytime via a web browser and look at the model: that’s collaboration!
