Hospitable building in
the care sector of the future

Wiegerinck has been commissioned to design the new building of the VieCuri hospital in Venray. VieCuri plans to build a small hospital in Venray, specialized in orthopaedics and ophthalmology. VieCuri plans to build a small hospital in Venray, specialized in orthopaedics and ophthalmology.

Small hospital in Wooded Area

With its 10,000 square metres of floor space it will be considerably smaller than the existing building. It is to become a profiled outpatient clinic with facilities for simple day care treatment, admittance options and ‘Emergency Care Light’ during office hours. The rural wooded environment is well-suited for the rehabilitation of orthopaedic patents in a complementary care hotel of some 5,000 square metres. This will have to be realized through cooperation with Adelante (rehabilitation care) and De Zorggroep (healthcare and nursing).

Three pavilions

Wiegerinck designed a building that consists of three pavilions in the forest. The buildings have an open universal structure that enables a flexible realization of the care programme. The pavilions jointly create a sheltered space in the woods where patients and staff will enjoy an invigorating environment.
