With its 10,000 square metres of floor space it will be considerably smaller than the existing building. It is to become a profiled outpatient clinic with facilities for simple day care treatment, admittance options and ‘Emergency Care Light’ during office hours. The rural wooded environment is well-suited for the rehabilitation of orthopaedic patents in a complementary care hotel of some 5,000 square metres. This will have to be realized through cooperation with Adelante (rehabilitation care) and De Zorggroep (healthcare and nursing).
Wiegerinck designed a building that consists of three pavilions in the forest. The buildings have an open universal structure that enables a flexible realization of the care programme. The pavilions jointly create a sheltered space in the woods where patients and staff will enjoy an invigorating environment.
