Zorgfront and reactivation
A major move
A number of the departments in the Sint Jansdal Hospital in Harderwijk have been given their own position at the front of the hospital. The bottom storeys of the new building are home to the Zorgfront [literally: Care Front], which includes an outpatient clinic, a dialysis centre and various commercial facilities. The top storeys are home to the reactivation unit. The department has space for 40 rooms and general facilities, including a treatment unit, an outpatient clinic and a restaurant.
The new building forms the front of the new entrance plaza that is yet to be developed. The movement in the facade changes the scale at the entrance plaza and creates an overhang above ground level. Anodised aluminium panels have been fitted next to the windows. The reveals are white and enhance the movement in the facade. Another feature of the volume is the patio. The roof over this patio can be accessed from the reactivation unit and forms a nice, private terrace.
A multi-storey car park has been integrated at the rear of the new building. This car park is for both visitors and staff of the new building as well as the existing hospital building.
