Cilag B45 Quality Assessment Lab

Zwitserland

Ready for a constantly changing future

In cooperation with Arcadis, Wiegerinck redesigned a new laboratory for quality control and assurance for a pharmaceutical company with international operations.

The proposed organisation layout on the one hand ensures an optimization of flexibility and interaction, and daylight illumination on the other hand. The design is based on a clear zoning of offices and laboratories around a central core with stairs/lifts/shafts and technical spaces.

In combination with a facade design that seeks a balance between the maximisation of daylight and the reduction of the access of heat, a controlled building design is created that takes the various layout and connection options in the laboratories into account.

The catering and meeting facilities are accessible to all users of the campus environment of which the new laboratory is a part.

The spatial concept is enhanced by unambiguous logistic flows of people, samples and waste on the one hand. On the other hand, the purification principles for air treatment and utilities create a total concept that can adapt to the constantly changing wishes of its users.

The selected sustainability elements in the comprehensive design will lead to a LEED-Gold certification.
